Big 3 Year Old!!!

Finally!  Allie's birthday finally came.  She's 3!  Daddy took the day off work and we celebrated with swim lessons, some fun time at the pool, and a family party that night.  Always looking for a good excuse to make some yummy Korean food!

Officially a Big Kid

Sam has moved up in the world, joining the ranks of his brother.  He just finished his first real season of t-ball, which he was very serious about and loved.  He also just lost (pulled out!) his first tooth.  Oh yeah, he's a big boy now.  He's counting down to the first school bus ride in August!

Eye on the ball.

Team ball.

Big & Little.

Can I pull this thing out?

My tooth's in the napkin (shock & awe)!

Oh my goodness what did I do (panic)???

I lost my first tooth (elation!) !!!!

Celebrating 2 Years!

Two years ago today, Allie was carried off a plane from South Korea and leaned straight into my arms for the first time.  It was such a surreal moment, one I still can't wrap my brain around.  After all the paperwork, waiting and worrying to get her home, in the end, she was literally just handed over.  Ours forever.  What a blessing and what an adventure she is!  We love to joke that she has defied all our expectations; we had thought we'd be getting this tiny, soft-spoken, quiet little girl... she is NONE of those things!  She is a LOUD, BOLD and FEARLESS little girl who literally never stops talking, even in her sleep.  We wouldn't have her any other way!  Happy Gotcha Day, Allison Hee Young!

I never tire of watching her homecoming video, and I never get through it without crying:

This Boy

Oh, this boy.  He is my heart.  When that bus pulled away from our house every school day morning, a big piece of my heart went with it.  I always counted the hours for his return.  Maybe I won't always be that way.  Maybe I have a little bit of homeschooling mom in me... whatever the reason, I just like it better when he's home.  Thankfully, summer is finally here.

That being said, this little man ROCKED first grade this year.  After a shaky start to kindergarten last year, the kid has just taken off.  He's reading like crazy, which is the best thing EVER for this reading teacher.  He's become so much more confident and outgoing and just a sponge for everything little tidbit of information.  Major kudos to his incredible teacher this year, she was amazing.

It's so crazy for me that he's now a second grader.  Second grade is the grade I taught and loved.  It always seemed so old compared to my little ones at home, but now he's here.  I'm so excited for him to experience second grade, but I'm a little apprehensive for once he's done with second grade; that just seems way to old!

Anyway, I'm already soaking up every second with this boy this summer.

That top tooth is still in there, it's just so loose it points backwards!
